Fast moving light orb photographed in daylight over Arizona
A daytime sighting of a large, bright light orb in Arizona has been reported along with two photographs of the object.
The 10 second long incident reportedly occurred on August 12, 2014, but the account was only filed last week by a co-worker of the witness, according to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).
A worker at a mineral mine in Green Valley, 30 miles south of Tuscon, was operating a large bulldozer at a waste dump when he noticed in his rear view mirror a bright light rapidly approaching from behind. The operator initially thought it was a light on a haul truck that was approaching to dump a load. The witness quickly realized that the light was not attached to an object.
The midday sighting occurred on a bright, dry day and under clear skies.
The bulldozer operator swiveled his seat toward the approaching light, which was flying directly at him. He was using his mobile phone at the time and had the presence of mind to quickly snap pictures of it. As the witness took his first picture, the object moved away at a high rate of speed and across the open mine field.
The witness took a second image of the orb about two-seconds later, which by then had accelerated two miles away and over another waste dump, according to the witness. The photos were taken through the rear and side windows of the bulldozer’s cab. The sun was positioned directly above the bulldozer at the time of the 1:30 pm sighting, according to the report.
The sighting report was submitted by a co-worker of the witness. NUFORC head Peter Davenport conducted a follow-up phone interview with the submitter of the report, and classified him as “quite serious minded” and the report to be “reliable.”

Original witness report:
This incident happened on August 12, 2014 at about 1:30 PM.
I work at a molybdenum mine south of Tucson, AZ.
My co-worker was operating a D10 Caterpillar dozer on one of our waste dumps at an elevation of about 4300 ft. He was doing something on his I-phone when he glanced in his mirror and thought he saw the lights of a haul truck coming to dump a load. It took only a moment for him to realize the light was not attached to anything.
At this point he turned in his seat and saw a bright light coming right at him, and had the good sense to take a picture of it with his phone. When he took the picture the object moved off at a high rate of speed across the open pit of the mine.
The second picture was taken approximately two seconds after the first and he estimates by this time the object was two miles away over another waste dump. The photos were taken out the back and side windows of the dozer and the suns position was just about overhead.
